In the context of the relationships between the European Union and the African continent, APRODEV work focuses on two main framework partnerships:

• The Cotonou Partnership Agreement between the EU and 78 African, Caribbean and Pacific countries (ACP) adopted in June 2000 in Cotonou

• The African - EU Partnership Strategy between the African Union and the European Union adopted in December 2007 in Lisbon
