The overall objective of APRODEV in its work on Migration and Development is to promote a rights-based approach to the migration and development nexus, with equal importance attached to the rights of migrants, as to the interests of origin, transit and host countries. In that view, APRODEV seeks to influence the EU and its Member States’ migration and development policies in order to ensure that they are coherent and reinforce each other instead of conflicting or being subordinated to one another, and that development goals and rights of migrants are respected as priorities.

This briefing paper presents the position of La Cimade, the French member of APRODEV, on the agreements already signed or in preparation between France and a few developing countries  concerning the concerted management of migration flows and co-development.
